  1. An aquaduct is any artificial channel or
  2. conduit for water, often an elevated 
  3. structure of stone, wood, or iron built 
  4. for conducting water across a valley.  The 
  5. Greeks built a tunnel 1,280m (4,200ft) long
  6. near Athens, over 2,500 years ago. 
  7. The longest aqueduct in Britain is the Pont
  8. Cysylltau in Clwyd, Wales, which was opened
  9. in 1805. It is 307m (1,007ft) long, with 19
  10. arches of up to 36m (121ft) high.
